This project by Sanabel aims to provide specialized psychological treatment and support to Arab expatriate families in Turkey who are suffering from severe psychological crises. These conditions arise from traumatic events, the challenges of displacement, a weak labor market, and deteriorating economic and social conditions.
The Challenge Many expatriates face psychological anxiety and more severe conditions like depression, OCD, and mental disorders, which are often compounded by the lack of support and the pain of being away from their homeland. The high cost of psychological treatment prevents many from accessing the care they desperately need. There has been an alarming rise in suicide attempts and recorded deaths among this population, highlighting the urgent need for intervention.
Project Goals & Impact The project will provide specialized medical and psychological treatment, along with social care programs, to:
Treat expatriates suffering from mental illnesses and protect them from the severe consequences of these conditions.
Reduce the rate of suicide and suicide attempts.
Fulfill a moral duty by offering solidarity and essential psychological support.
Beneficiary Categories: The project targets 250 beneficiaries categorized by the severity of their condition:
Category A (Critical): Individuals with severe mental illnesses like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, often with suicidal tendencies.
Category B: Individuals with less severe issues that still negatively impact their professional and social lives.
Category C: Individuals experiencing emotional discomfort, panic attacks, or anxiety that affects daily tasks.
